Knot Floer homology is an invariant of knots in the three-sphere, defined
using methods of symplectic geometry. I will describe algebraic methods
for studying this invariant and connections with more recent algebraic
constructions in symplectic geometry. This talk will cover joint work both
with Zoltan Szabo, drawing on other joint work with Robert Lipshitz and
Dylan Thurston.
