Abstract
Projection complexes were introduced by Bestvina-Bromberg-Fujiwara
around a decade ago. These complexes are hyperbolic spaces that
are constructed from a collection of metric spaces that satisfy
certain axioms. A variation of the construction produces a
quasi-tree of metric spaces.
Both constructions found quite a few applications since they were
introduced, and they are essential in studying hierarchically hyperbolic
spaces (HHS) that were discussed in earlier talks.
The talk this week will be independent of the previous two, though I do
intend to mention the connection to HHS and to acylindrical actions.
All the terms will be defined and explained.
