Title: Entropy - the evolution in the concept's range and relevance.

Abstract:
The notion, or rather notions, of Entropy provide a remarkable example of interdisciplinary cross fertilization.  We shall briefly recap the concept's evolution through leaps from thermodynamics to statistical mechanics, information theory, dynamical systems, functional analysis,  probability theory, quantum information theory, up to its emergence in the quantification of many-body quantum entanglement.  Mathematical issues related the latter will be highlighted as will be some of the recent progress and open challenges.
