Title: Complexity and positive scalar curvature
Abstract: A manifold with positive scalar curvature is one whose metric balls of small radius have less volume than Euclidean balls. Through work of Atiyah, Lichnerowicz, Singer, Hitchen, Gromov, Lawson and Stoltz the question of which simply connected manifolds have such metrics has been completely understood for thirty years. It's a nice story, but my focus will be whether one can "understand" the metrics that are known to exist.
This is joint work with Fedor Manin, Zhizheng Xie and Guioliang Yu.
