Title: Castelnuovo-Mumford Regularity, Combinatorics and Edge Ideals.
Abstract:
The edge ideal of a finite simple graph has been an active topic of research in last few decades. People are interested in understanding the interplay between the combinatorics of the underlying graph and the homological algebra of its edge ideal. Castelnuovo-Mumford Regularity has been one invariant that has been studied extensively by many because it is very well behaved under vertex deletion and induction; as a result many interesting results are proved for this invariant. In this talk a technique to study Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of the powers of edge ideal will be discussed. Some conjectures, new results and possible directions for future research will be mentioned.
