Title: Conjugacy width in higher rank arithmetic groups
In this talk, which is based on joint work with Nir Avni, we will present a conjecture about the width of conjugacy classes in higher rank arithmetic groups and give some evidence to its validity. We will explain the connection of this conjecture to Congruence Subgroup Problem and to Bounded Generation.
