Abstract:
Kazhdan's Property T is a prominent group property.
After surveying some of its (many) equivalent definitions and its (many, many) applications, I will also discuss some of its generalizations, in particular the higher notions of property T and their actual and potential applications.
Based on joint works with Saar Bader, Shaked Bader and Roman Sauer.
