Title:   Beyond the g-conjecture – algebraic combinatorics of cellular spaces

Abstract:

McMullen's 1980 g-conjecture for spheres was a holy grail in algebraic combinatorics. In recent years we witnessed a proof of the g-conjecture for spheres by Adiprasito, a simpler proof by Papadakis and Petrotou, and further simplifications and extensions by  Adiprasito, Papadakis and Petrotou. The task of having a proof that could be fully presented in a graduate course seems within reach. What is next for the study of combinatorics of cellular spaces and related objects? I will mention some problems and connections.
