Since the late 80's, there have been many fundamental works on singularity formation of the Einstein equation on Riemannian manifolds. In this second lecture, I will discuss some of these works for Kähler manifolds. I will also show how complex analysis and algebraic geometry can be applied to give a rather complete understanding of singularity formation for Kähler-Einstein metrics.
