Abstract: I'll discuss a new take on oscillation of functions based on
persistence modules and barcodes, a theory originated in topological data analysis.
Applications include generalizations of Courant's nodal domain theorem and Bezout's theorem.
Joint with Lev Buhovsky, Jordan Payette, Iosif Polterovich, Egor Shelukhin, and Vukašin Stojisavljević.
