Diffeology began to develop when it was realized that it perfectly described, in a geometrical way, singular objects such as the quotient space of the irrational linear foliations on the torus. Thus creating an alternative to non-commutative geometry. We have recently explored the structural links between these two theories. This is what I will try to explain in this talk.
