DESCRIPTION:*Title:*Geometric Langlands correspondence in the ell-adic setting\n*Abstract:*The famous Langlands conjecture asserts that there is a \ncorrespondence between so-called``automorphic representations" and ``Galois \nrepresentations".\nIn his remarkable work Vincent Lafforgue proved the ``from automorphic to \nGalois" direction of the global Langlands conjecture over function fields. In \norder to do it he constructed a decomposition of the space of (cuspidal) \nautomorphic forms, parameterized by semi-simple Langlands parameters for the \nLanglands dual group.\nIn the first part of the talk, I will discuss the global Langlands \nconjectures over the function fields, and describeVincent Lafforgue's result.\nIn the second part of the talk I will discuss a ``categorification'' of \nLafforgue's result, from which (among other things) the (unramified case of) \nof Lafforgue's result follows.\nThis is a joint project with D.
