Title: Characteristic polynomial outside of the support
Abstract: When considering a sequence of random polynomials with independent coefficients, some zeros may persist outside the limiting support, and their behavior depends on the distribution of the coefficients. After recalling this phenomenon, we will see that it does not occur when the random polynomials are the characteristic polynomials of random matrices with i.i.d. coefficients. Moreover, a form of universality can be observed, closely related to the universal behavior of the eigenvalue fluctuations. This talk is based on joint work with Charles Bordenave and Djalil Chafaï.
