Workshop for graduate students and post-docs
The goal of the workshop is to study the proof of super-strong approximation via the Bourgain-Gamburd expansion machine, the classification of approximate subgroups of semisimple algebraic groups over finite fields, and random matrix products. The plan is to follow the paper Approximate subgroups and super-strong approximation by Emmanuel Breuillard. The talks will be given by graduate students and post-docs. Some funding is available to support accommodation inside the Hebrew University (Givat Ram campus). Registration is required.
